CAL FIRE Assistance

From July 4th to July 22nd, a Northern Sonoma County Fire engine assisted CAL FIRE by staffing various stations around Sonoma County while CAL FIRE was busy on fires outside of the county. The District will be reimbursed by the State of California for this service. During this time, the District maintained regular staffing and the community was not impacted.

Board Training

Directors Scott Newman, Fred Peterson, and Pat Abercrombie, along with District Treasurer Michael Pigoni, recently attended the Fire District Association of CA (FDAC) Certificate of Achievement Program. The training took place in Windsor, CA over the course of two days and included topics such as board organization, roles, and responsibilities, as well as fire district legislation, regulations, and codes. Northern Sonoma County Fire Board members are working hard to expand their knowledge to provide the best guidance possible.

As a reminder, the Board of Directors meets at 6 PM on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The District encourages the community to attend these meetings. Visit our website for a full list of meeting dates and times.
