CAL FIRE Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Completed
We recently wrapped up an equipment grant from CAL FIRE. The District used funds from this grant to purchase structure (firefighting) gloves, turnouts, boots and hoods, as well as wildland pants and headlamps. These grants help the District purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) essential to fighting both structure and wildland fires.
Hazard Mitigation Working Group Meeting
The County of Sonoma is in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan and the Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District is pleased to be a participating agency. The mitigation projects identified in the plan will reduce vulnerability and increase community resiliency to disasters.
Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management will host a meeting of the Hazard Mitigation Working Group on July 29 at 10 am to review the results of the risk assessment. This meeting is open to the public and is a great opportunity to learn about the county-wide vulnerabilities uncovered by the assessment. This meeting is usually the most helpful to people unfamiliar with hazard mitigation planning.
Registration for this meeting is required. You can register here: Hazard Mitigation Working Group | Meeting-Join | Microsoft Teams

On June 27, we celebrated the unveiling of our new mailbox with a ribbon cutting ceremony. We couldn't find any large scissors, so we improvised with a vehicle extrication tool and fireline tape. From now on, please send all mail to 20975 Geyserville Ave, Geyserville, CA 95441. We will be discontinuing the use of our post office box.
