Equipment Grant

The District recently received over $15,000 from CAL FIRE as part of the Volunteer Fire Capacity Program of the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978. This grant allowed us to buy the following equipment:

  • Wildland helmets, gloves, and coats
  • Structural helmets, gloves, hoods, turnouts, and boots
  • BK digital radios

Purchasing this equipment helps ensure that all our members are equipped with gear that is compliant with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.

West Side Elementary School Visit

We visited West Side Elementary School to offer the children a chance to meet our firefighters and learn about fire and life safety skills. School visits include a demonstration of special firefighting clothes (turnouts), fire apparatus (fire engines), and equipment. These visits give children an opportunity to interact with the on-duty crews and learn about the job and the services we provide.

West Side Elementary is located in an area annexed by Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District in the spring of 2023. It is one of three elementary schools located within the boundaries of our fire district.

We offer fire station tours to the public and fire safety presentations at your school. Please contact us to schedule a school visit or station tour.
