The Forestry Technician 1 & 2 (FT1 & FT2) positions are responsible for operating power and hand tools to cut small trees and bushes, and feeding vegetation into a chipper. This position may also involve participation in pile and broadcast burning.

Forestry Technician 1

The Forestry Technician 1 (FT1) has little to no experience working with a fuels crew. The FT1 position has an hourly rate of $20/hour. The FT1 is offered as either a part-time or a seasonal position.

Forestry Technician 2

The Forestry Technician 2 (FT2) has at least 3 months of experience working on a crew and is expected to fully understand chainsaw operations and maintenance. The FT2 position has an hourly rate of $25/hour. The FT2 is offered as either a part-time or seasonal position.
